Everyday we play with Flash Disk, Ext. Drive with our lovely PC, but sometimes we don’t know there’s some active viruses that always started when we inserting our external drive (eg. usb flash disk, external hdd). Like Brontoks, Aduhai, Kangen, FluBurung, Ririn, Blangkon, Bercinta, Pacaran, PatahHati, tati.exe, etc.
Here’s a little tips to protect our PC.
>To Disable Auto play in Windows XP Professional
1. Start/Run/GPEDIT.MSC
2. Computer Configuration/Administrative Templates/System.
3. Locate the entry for Turn Off Autoplay and modify.
Start/Run/Gpedit.msc/Computer Configuration/Administrative Templates/System.
Check your settings in the right panel, Turn Off Autoplay (double click).
> To Disable CD Autoplay, completely, in Windows XP Home
Click Start, Run and enter REGEDIT Then go to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
Name: NoDriveTypeAutoRun
Type: REG_DWORD
If NoDriveTypeAutoRun does not exist, create it and set its value to 145 (decimal).
